For over 40 years he has been the director as well as founder of the Centre for Historic Research of the Italian Union, based in Rovigno. The Institute defends the Italian presence in Istria on the basis of the universal human right of people to maintain their cultural identity. It opposes the reduction of the remaining autonomy and promotes research in every field to document and detail the history of this territory. The Centre bears witness to a heritage of art and culture which in this small area between Trieste and the Gulf of Quarnero, includes a number of important personalities from the melting pot which is the Venetian School. A capable organiser and prolific writer who surrounds himself with many young people and collaborative artists, Giovanni Radossi has published 280 books and 80 scientific papers.
