Elena Cattaneo

Internationally renowned biologist, professor of Pharmacology at the University of Milan, where she directs the Laboratory of Stem Cell Biology. For her scientific merits she is a life senator of the Italian Republic. The constant commitment in Italy and abroad in defense of scientific research, rationality and transparency in the communication between science and civil society for progress in human coexistence is praiseworthy.

THE HISTORY OF THE AWARD

The awards began in 1981 with the Masi Civiltà Veneta Prize, given to personalities who had their origins in the Venetian territories or with venetian family or venetian by adoption, and who had distinguished themselves in the fields of literature, art, journalism, science, the performing arts and business.
