REPORTERS WITHOUT BORDERS (Reporters sans Frontières – RSF – an international non-profit organization dedicated to defending the independence and pluralism of the press) receives, in the person of its Director General Thibaut Bruttin, the Masi International Grosso d’Oro Veneziano Prize for the indispensable role it plays in defending freedom and democracy around the world, at a time when the quality and independence of the press is increasingly threatened by political and economic pressures and when hundreds of journalists are being killed in the line of duty.
